Landscape Design Services: Design Process
The first step is a visit to the site of the prospective client where a consideration is made of what should be done and what the client is looking for. After the initial visit a price estimate will be produced for the customer. When a design is required it usually involves outdoor living spaces such as patios, pool areas, plantings around decks and foundations. A design plan would be used for ornamental plantings or natural screens, integrating stonewalls or ponds to complement the plantings if desired.
FEES:
Fees will be discussed with client at the initial meeting.
STEPS IN THE DESIGN PROCESS:
- The first appointment takes place on the site where we can review the project and get the client’s input on the outdoor space that is envisioned. We can learn what their plant material needs are and what structural necessities such as walls or walks might be wanted. We can also discuss specialty features they may want, such as water gardens, stone walls etc. The clients’ input is the used to draft a design.
- It will take one to three weeks on average to design a plan.
- The next appointment will typically be a meeting to view the design and go over plant and construction material. This greatly assists the client in understanding the components that might be incorporated into their design.
- Changes are made if necessary according to the clients desires. Once the plan has been finalized a detailed estimate of materials and labor along with a copy of the design is submitted to the client.
Advantages of a design:
-a clear cost for doing the job can be established
-an overall plan makes it easier to complete in stages if desired
-client will get a much clearer view of their concepts and goals
